Elizabeth Ngumbi, Ph.D.

Dr. Elizabeth Ngumbi is highly skilled in Community development and donor management. Strong professional with a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from Ohio University, USA and Master of Education from University of Nairobi. Skills: Educational expert, specialist and practitioner for over 25 years in all levels in both governmental and non-governmental organizations, gender expert, researcher, author, motivational speaker, youth mentor and enthusiast in girls and women empowerment. Elizabeth has worked for Teachers Service Commission (Siakago Girls High School; Kilimambogo Teachers College), Kenya National Examinations Council (Marking and setting KCSE; TTC examinations), Ohio University, USA (Teaching Assistant, Technology Lab. Technical Assistant; Examinations proctor for students living with disabilities).

She has also worked at The Catholic University of Eastern Africa – CUEA: Senior lecturer and HOD (Curriculum Studies and Instruction; Post Graduate Diploma in Education). Dr. Elizabeth has worked as a consultant and expert in: education, training, research, monitoring and evaluation, e-learning expert, project implementation in: Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF) – Technical Education Advisor; International Education; Research Network (iEARN), Kenya – Assistant Director. Others: GESCI, APPCAN, Centre for Parliamentary Studies; Training (The CPST), Leonard Cheshire Disability, Action Aid – Kenya. Experienced in programs funded by local donors, UNDP, SIDA, European Union (EU), Banyan Tree Foundation, Jewish Funding International, ACT! (Act, Change Transform) and Dignitas. She is able to work with teams in research, education programs and coordinated projects worth $1 Million USD, 12 peer-reviewed publications, 6 book chapters and 1 text book publications, 3 peer-reviewed project reports, 2 policy briefs and over 20 international and national conference presentations. She has worn several awards including the Ford – fellowship at Ohio University and Student Scholarship for study abroad program – Ohio University and African Leadership in ICT (ALICT) – through the UN and Global e-Schools and Communities Initiative (GESCI).
